It is made of pure copper and the colors are created by the torch heating process that I use to anneal the metal before each bend. I use pure copper and there is no coating of any kind other than the natural flame oxide patina. My newer one has a subtle wave to it. It gives me a sense of gentle strength. Like the willow that will bend while others break. You can have your choice. Wavy like the first image
