Aurora Superstorm beach red sands and lush floraApril 2024 brought the biggest solar storm in 20 years, which produced an aurora that was visible across the entire United States and lasted for hours. I was hopeful to see some green in the sky, but I never expected the aurora superstorm to be so intense at this latitude. This is one of my favorite shots from the evening, taken as the colors danced across the sky over Mallet's Bay. Photographed in Colchester, Vermont in April, 2024.
